Obsidian gave players their first good look at its upcoming title, The Outer Worlds 2, in a new trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase. The trailer showed off more details about the game’s story, as well as its release date: It launches on October 29 on PC, Xbox and Game Pass. There was also more than a little of the first game’s satirical take on capitalism, corporate culture and chaos in the trailer itself.

According to the trailer, players are an Earth Directorate agent investigating reports of uncontrolled rifts, leading them to Arcadia colony, which is being invaded. The game’s store page describes the conflict: “The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion.”

The trailer also shows some of the gameplay featured, with more of the dark humor that was such as staple of the first title. Players can recruit new companions, use a plethora of new weapons and even influence the growth of the colony as it responds to their narrative choices.
