Bitcoin (BTC) continues to see “buy the dip” signals as mining hashrate ascends to new all-time highs.
The historically accurate Hash Ribbons metric, tracked by onchain analytics platform CryptoQuant, is flashing green for the third time in 2025.
Hash Ribbons analysis: Buying Bitcoin now is “smart move”
Bitcoin miner performance is still telling market participants to buy despite price hitting new all-time highs last month.
Hash Ribbons, which measures the 30-day and 60-day moving average of hashrate, now says that even current prices represent a “long-term buying opportunity.”
“It’s not a big surprise considering that the hashrate has recently reached new all-time highs,” CryptoQuant contributor Darkfost commented in one of its “Quicktake” blog posts on the topic.
Hash Ribbons has an impressive track record of catching long-term price bottoms and has delivered “buy” signals relatively rarely.
In a post on X, Darkfost observed that this time around, little attention was being paid to the indicator.
“Bottom line, this signal is telling you that buying the dip around here is a smart move,” he added.
Meanwhile, miners’ BTC reserves are staying more or less flat through 2025 after sustained selling throughout last year.
Coins in known miner wallets totaled around 1.8 million BTC as of June 4.
Profit-taking “euphoria” fades
Elsewhere, as Cointelegraph continues to report, large-volume investors have seized the opportunity to lock in profits at all-time highs.

Bitcoin whales and long-term holders alike have been cashing out, but compared to previous price cycles, their moves are more nuanced, according to research from onchain analytics firm Glassnode this week.
In the latest edition of its regular newsletter, “The Week Onchain,” Glassnode used the 90-day simple moving average of hodlers’ realized profits to “compare profit-taking intensity across cycles on an apples-to-apples basis.”
“A clear trend emerges: profit-taking has grown less euphoric over time, reflecting the broader degradation in cyclical upside performance and lower volatility profiles as the market matures,” researchers summarized.
