Bitfinex Pay will transition to Estable Pay by September 2025, offering enhanced crypto payment solutions with a focus on self-custody, self-hosting, and white-label customization.

The evolving regulatory environment for cryptocurrency payments has prompted Bitfinex to announce a strategic transition of its payment platform. According to blog.bitfinex.com, Bitfinex Pay will transform into Estable Pay by September 15, 2025, marking a significant shift in its service offerings.

What to Expect from the Transition?

This transition aims to enhance the payment infrastructure, providing users with a more robust and scalable experience. Key features of Estable Pay include increased control through self-custody, flexible self-hosting options, and a fully white-label solution that allows for extensive customization. These improvements are designed to meet varying jurisdictional compliance requirements, including AML and KYC processes.

Estable Pay will enable merchants to self-host their payment gateway infrastructure, offering greater control and customization. By shifting platform operations to trusted collaborators, Bitfinex seeks to focus entirely on developing a superior white-label crypto payment solution, enhancing innovation, reliability, and speed.

Introducing Estable

Estable is a new venture by Tether, created to offer a comprehensive ecosystem for crypto financial solutions. Beyond payment services, Estable provides a wide range of infrastructure solutions, including white-label wallet services, stablecoin issuance, and customizable KYC and AML solutions, allowing businesses to seamlessly integrate into the crypto economy.

These offerings aim to empower businesses with the tools needed to operate efficiently in both local and global markets, ensuring compliance while maintaining user-friendly operations.

Impact of the Transition

The transition to Estable means the current Bitfinex Pay platform will be discontinued. New merchant registrations have ceased, though existing verified merchants will continue to access core services until the decommission date. During this interim period, all Pro-only features, such as advanced customization and automatic fiat conversion, will be available to all merchants.

Bitfinex will maintain customer support and address any technical issues until the transition is complete. Merchants wishing to continue using crypto payment services post-transition must migrate to another provider or apply for onboarding with Estable Pay.
