Resolution reveals setting of Demeo’s Battlemarked RPG

Resolution Games this week revealed more information about its upcoming Dungeons & Dragons-based RPG, Battlemarked, which is set to launch later this year on the company’s platform Demeo. The first adventure within Battlemarked is set in Neverwinter Wood, a familiar place for fans of the franchise. The studio is also working with story designer Matt Sernett, who is Battlemarked’s narrative lead. Sernett formerly worked on the D&D tabletop game and consulted for games such as Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale.
Alongside the setting and 2025 launch window, Resolution also announced the launch platforms for Battlemarked: It’s coming to Steam and PlayStation 5, with a VR version in the works for SteamVR, PSVR2 and Meta Quest 3. It’s also available to wishlist on multiple platforms today. While Neverwinter Wood is the setting for the first adventure within Battlemarked, the developer already has a second adventure in the works, to be revealed later this year.
Sernett said in a statement, “When Dungeons & Dragons launched fifth edition back in 2014, the first adventure that many players went on ventured into Neverwinter Wood, and I can think of no place better for Battlemarked players to begin their journey. The first adventure in Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked will take players to familiar locations including Cragmaw Castle and Mount Hotenow. The world of D&D is just as much a part of the story as its characters, and we can’t wait for players to immerse themselves in its dangers and delights.”
Tommy Palm, Resolution Games CEO, added, ““While the world of Demeo is rich with lore, our previous titles focus primarily on tactical action over motivation and narrative. With Dungeons & Dragons, story is just as important as combat, so we’ve rebalanced our approach to make sure we can deliver more of it. With the addition of dramatic cut scenes, richer dialogue, and deeper player choices, Battlemarked truly marks the start of the next iteration of the Demeo Action Roleplaying System.”
