Tesla Offers Free 1-Year Supervised FSD Trial To Select Cybertruck Owners Amid Elon Musk’s Self Driving Push – Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

Tesla Inc. TSLA is offering a free 1-year trial for its Supervised Full Self-Driving Technology to select Cybertruck owners.
What Happened: Some owners reported receiving an email from Tesla that shared details about the offer. Tesla influencer Sawyer Merritt took to social media on the platform X on Wednesday to share the update.
“As a thank you for being an early Cybertruck adopter, we are offering you a free, 1-year trial of Full Self-Driving (Supervised),” the email said.
Tesla did not immediately respond to Benzinga’s request for comment.
The email also states that to claim the offer, eligible customers would need to subscribe to the service by June 6, 2025. Tesla also says that Autosteer won’t be available for the Cybertruck outside of Supervised FSD.
Why It Matters: News of the offer comes in when Tesla has been grappling with poor sales figures both in the U.S. as well as in regions like Europe. Elon Musk‘s EV giant also experienced a 71% plunge in YoY profits.
Interestingly, Tesla is reportedly sitting on thousands of unsold Cybertruck units in its U.S. inventory, even as the company pivoted its marketing strategy for the product to focus on its ruggedness as well as position it as a working man’s truck.
Elsewhere, Musk reiterated his optimism for Tesla’s self-driving technology and said that manually driven cars would become “unusual” in the future. He also said that the company will release Unsupervised FSD soon.
Price Action: TSLA is currently $278.60, gaining 1.22% in pre-market trading, according to Benzinga Pro data.
